Disney’s Obi-Wan Kenobi show was, again, divisive amongst fans with some great lightsabre action and some juxta appose dire chase scenes.
Following MANY hours searching all the quarries and disused mines in the Southern California area, from the coast all the way to Joshua Tree National Park, I believe I have found an Obi-Wan Kenobi filming location.
Viewed briefly in the behind the scene documentary on Disney Plus, at the 10m 20sec mark, there is a wide shot of the set. Painstaking research and scouring Google Maps….finally paid off.
Just off Laurel Canyon Blvd lies the huge “quarry”. Found in San Fernando, North of Sun Valley, in Pacoima, CA, next to the Golden State Freeway as it splits in two into the Hollywood Freeway & Golden State, is the Obi-Wan Kenobi set.
If you have Google Earth then there are actual 3d representations of the set, you can zoom round!!
I am still looking at Joshua Tree for the other scenes set on Mapuzo, so watch this space.
