Smugglers Star Wars Charity Day

Hello there!

S Charity Day

It’s the day after attending SW event in Croydon, UK. And  WOW, what a great experience.

As I mentioned previously there were guest signers galore from the prequels, original trilogy and sequels.

Signing tables Robert Watts Michael Pennington Jesper Jacob Glyn Baker Hugh Spight

Plus there were lots of stalls selling SW toys and costuming groups from 501st, Joker Squad UK and Vader’s Raiders.

Even though I have been travelling to events since 1995 there were OT signers here that I had never met and was extremely glad to have been able to spend a few minutes in their company.

Catherine Munroe – Zuckuss – TESB

Glyn Baker – Imperial Lieutenant Endicott – ROTJ

Jasper Jacob – Captain Yorr – ROTJ

Lewis MacLoed – Sebulba – TPM

Brian Muir – Sculptor.

I was also lucky enough to catch-up a little with the truly fantastic Robert Watts, the ever friendly Pam Rose and Mike Edmonds.

These actors must have seen 1000’s of people over the years and yet their stories are as fresh as day one.

Also, it was nice to see in person other SW fans whom I’ve met through Facebook, Fantha Tracks, Mark Newbold, Dave Rowntree, Dave Louis Oldbury, Neil Warren and many more. (sorry if I missed you out). If you see yourself in the photos please tag.

Thank you Richard and team for putting on this event

Thank you to all the guests who attended.

The Book of Boba Fett.

Here it is…..

Lucasfilm TBOBF

Disney have released a poster and a trailer for the upcoming Star Wars series – The Book of Boba Fett.

There are lots of alien species, Twi’lek women and Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand does quite a lot of the talking… There appears to be voice over from The Mandalorian himself and we are lead to believe that Boba is a reformed Bounty Hunter and more a business man……. we’ll see.

For locations, we appear to stay pretty much on Tatooine. We see a B’Omarr Monk crawl over the desert floor, someone approaching Jabba’s Palace and Slave 1 flying to what could be Mos Eisley spaceport?

There is also a new desert town that could be Eisley or Espa or somewhere else?

December 29th can’t come quick enough.

Star Wars Memories (stories)….

Hello there,

I recently purchased another behind the scene / anecdotal Star Wars book.

This book was written by Craig Miller, a life-long Sci-fi fan who was lucky enough to work for Lucasfilm during the initial pre-production of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back.

He became the first Director of Fan Relations and instigated Bantha Tracks, the fan newsletter plus collated the Membership Kits sent out to fans.

Working with the talented people like Charles Lippincott and Gary Kurtz this book tell the story of marketing, a then unknown, product from a very young director to studios and fan’s who had never heard of Jedis’ or “The Force” and never imagined Wookiees or Yoda!

Craig’s book is a great read and page turner, at over 400+ pages it doesn’t feel heavy in anyway and there are lots of accompanying images from the production of the films and the marketing items brought on to sell Star Wars.

I love a non-fiction tale of how the films were brought to the big screen and the effort required by artistic individuals working towards a greater good.

Let me recommend you add it to your collection as soon as possible.

More Star Wars content….

Hello there,

It looks like we will be treated to more Star Wars this festive period with the release of “The Book of Boba Feet”.

Disney have announce that the show will start streaming December 29th on Disney+

As yet we don’t know when the story will start, will it be flashbacks to how Boba escaped the sarlacc, where he has been since the end of Return of the Jedi, will other Bounty Hunters appear and what is the end goal?

We will have to wait to see what the impending trailer and episodes brings….

Disneyland Paris – expansion?

Disneyland Paris expansion

Hello there,

Thanks for coming to the page…..please spread the word!

As a resident in the UK, I have followed but not yet visited Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at both Batuu East & West and was hoping that something like this would be built closer to me at Disneyland Paris.

Now the Galactic Star Cruiser, Halcyon, is due for launch in 2022, I thought, where are we at closer to home?

Up until the COVID pandemic there were concept designs and scant information released to say that Europe would get an expansion.

Sadly in the fall of 2021 it looks like the proposed “Star Wars Land” is now off the table, with only the Frozen & Marvel areas/lands breaking ground. Why? Who knows?

So, in this post, I thought I would upload the information I have to this point to show what could have been and what should have opened 2024/2025.

Proposed to be built as an extension in the Disney Studios backlot (South West), in the park. A scaled down version of what is located in the USA, included 1 ride, rumoured to be Rise of the Resistance plus a merchandise shop and restaurant.

Google Earth DLP Ground

It would have a themed waiting line with full size X-Wing fighter, no Millennium Falcon for Europe.

3d images have emerged and it would appear the ground has been broken for Frozen fans but not for Star Wars fans!

Maybe it will still happen?

Should we get something bigger and better?
